I started my career with Michael Page in 2010 as a graduate with little to no idea as to what a career in recruitment actually meant or what someone actually did. I quickly learnt that it can be very different to what you might expect and that I truly enjoyed being of service to both my candidates and clients. My strength is perhaps understanding the needs of both the candidate and client through in depth questioning - their key drivers, long and short term goals, strengths, areas of development, personality and with whom they will be the most fruitful with. I enjoy being able to identify risks, areas that perhaps a client or candidate hasn’t thought of yet and truly working in partnership to deliver a thorough service. Coaching a candidate to deal with difficult career decisions or working with a client to figure out what and who they need and how to attract the best candidates are intellectually stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable for me.
I enjoyed my time at Michael Page and was promoted to Manager in 2012 and Associate Director in 2015. Having won awards in the firm and for having a strong track record in talent development, in 2018 I was able to take a sabbatical to figure out what I wanted to do long term and to also focus on things outside of work that were important to me.
It was a straight forward decision to be able to work at EA First - to work with a business at the beginning of its journey and for someone who has a refreshingly different and flexible outlook as well as being talented in his job is a really exciting project and opportunity for me. I look forward to helping EA First grow and working with some of the best clients in the East Anglia region. I spent a good part of my childhood in East Anglia and am looking forward to returning!
