Join a mission to tackle climate change. We are partnering exclusively with an environmental consultancy that is developing a unique modelling and analytics platform that will support international corporations navigate a pathway to Net Zero. Having recently received new funding they are expanding their Cambridge based team.

The role involves using various modelling techniques to estimate the impact of various designed scenarios on business and national and global economies.

Research and Modelling:

  • Perform research into new and emerging threats and devise extreme but plausible scenarios with an accompanying narratives that explores the impact of the event on a corporate

  • Development of models that assess how companies of different characteristics (size, sector, activity) are likely to be impacted by various aspects of multi-threats including financial, geopolitical, technological, social and governance risks.

  • Present results of analytics and models to clients and explain the insights they provide to support the management decisions they are making.

  • Work with senior managers at client companies to understand the key decisions that our analytics can support and inform, and interpret their needs into modelling specification for development.

  • Pre-sales technical presentations about our modelling and their applications to prospective corporate clients.

  • Use large complex datasets to extract and manipulate data in the development of new models and metrics, including identifying sources of data, carrying out data preparation etc.

  • Present information on research progress and outcomes to bodies supervising research

  • Write up results of own research and research work for presentation and publication

  • Manage own research and administrative activities, with guidance if required

  • Communicate material of a specialist or highly technical nature to a range of audiences

We are seeking a modeller who is comfortable doing research. Ideally with a background in either risk, engineering, physics or applied mathematics to join a team creating a novel product and providing evidence based and confident risk consultancy to a wide variety of multinationals.
