Today we have opened our new Cambridge office with a view of looking at our people as an extension of our family, rather than purely an employee.
When we decided we would be moving office, we as many, had a lot of choices as to what that new office looks like.
Whilst people without doubt make the culture of a business, the physical location can also help play a hugely integral part of this.
As such, we are proud to announce we have launched an office that we feel best represents our movement.
With employee well-being, engagement, and just outright fun being at the heart of every decision we took, we’ve created an office where only 35% of the floorspace accounts for traditional “chairs & desks”.
The remaining 65% brings to life an opportunity to experience a journey at work, like none, our employees have ever experienced.
We had the Designer and the Project Manager, both with 25 + years experience each, feeling obliged to do a “duty of care” chat with us because this sort of project had never been done.
After 20 minutes of thinking, we realised that this is something tangible that will set us apart from other organisations, and is exactly what we wanted to do.
We didn’t look at the return on investment per square foot of expenditure. We didn’t look at how cheap can we do this project. We didn’t look at how many people we could cram into that office.
To build a home for our family, we pulled every creative thought we had, every emotion of care we have for the people who work for us, and channelled that into our new office.
Why? Because we love and value our employees. Believe it or not, there was little traditional business logic that went into what we have done with this office!
For whatever time we have the honour of our employees working under the EA First flag, we want to ensure we put our money where our mouth is, and proudly wear our hearts on our sleeves.
