This organisation has big growth plans and is looking to appoint an Accountant with strong technical skills who wants to progress to a Head of Finance role within the next few years.

The role:
You will assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and local statutory accounts for the company's overseas subsidiaries and have a proactive and "can do" outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually) according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights to management for decision-making purposes, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and forecasting.
- Assist in the set up and maintenance of an ERP system for inventory management.
- Prepare inventory forecasts, financial models, and budgets with a primary emphasis on optimising cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary changes to accounting practices and procedures.
- Assist in external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This may include calculating and remitting taxes such as income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health and performance of the organisation, including analysing key financial ratios, trends, and benchmarks against industry standards.
- Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders such as management, investors, and regulatory authorities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial accounting procedures.
Experience required:
- Newly qualified candidates (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) are preferred, with a strong educational background and that can demonstrate expertise in financial accounting.
- This could also suit a newly qualified auditor looking to make their first move into industry.
