This particular Accounts Assistant role based in Birmingham will be assisting the Financial Controller on year end reports, VAT Returns, reconciliations and more.

This Accounts Assistant based in Birmingham will be responsible for:

  • Purchase ledger and Invoice processing for payment.
  • Basis understanding of accounting systems.
  • Car Parking site receivables, collections reconciliation and Payment processing on daily basis entered on Excel.
  • Opening supplier Accounts for multiple companies as and when necessary.
  • Purchase Invoice processing with VAT knowledge, option to Tax and allocate invoices to properties and companies accordingly. (Preference for candidate with experience in Property VAT requirements, however not essential)
  • Liaising with accounts departments of third party suppliers for the orders and payments of materials and machinery.
  • Assist Finance Manager for VAT return and processing.
  • Assist Finance Manager with ad hoc duties for Annual accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation on a daily and Monthly basis for multiple Bank accounts.
  • Ad hoc responsibility: Administration and filing of general accounts/insurance documentation.

The ideal Accounts Assistant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Competent Excel ability.
  • Accuracy and reliability with numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as an Accounts Assistant.

Experience in:

  • Purchase ledger.
  • VAT.
  • Bank Reconciliation.
  • Competent Microsoft Excel ability.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software Quick Books or Sage or any major accounting software.
  • Hold a preference for working in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.

The salary on offer for the right Accounts Assistant is up to £30,000 + benefits.

Birmingham City Centre parking included.
