  • End-to-end ownership for large-scale automation projects from planning through to installation, launch and support.
  • Coordinate critical path tasks, thoroughly analyse technical details, and develop innovative solutions to address any issues that arise.
  • Assess and effectively communicate the status of projects, proactively manage potential risks and delays across multiple teams.
  • Organise and facilitate weekly standing meetings with internal teams and external vendors/contractors to plan and monitor project deliverables.
  • Take the lead in conducting technical design reviews and propose design solutions for the implementation of material handling and storage technologies that align with both business requirements and global design standards.
  • Offer support in creating equipment specifications and providing technical assistance to procurement and other departments.
  • Work closely with various internal teams, including Engineering, Facilities, Operations, IT, and Procurement, to collaborate and ensure smooth project execution.

  • The ideal Automation Project Manager will have a proven track record of successfully delivering large scale automation projects and programmes within Logistics.
  • Experience in delivering best-in-class automation solutions such as AGVs, Co-Bots, AMR, ASRS, packing solutions, and conveyance systems is essential.
  • Experience of working with large scale automation systems such as high bay warehouses, monorails, layer/case picking.
  • Strong relationships with software developers (WMS/WCS) and automation integration partners is essential.
  • Wide ranging knowledge of Automation solutions and concepts.
  • Knowledge of WMS and WCS, preferably Manhattan.
  • Ability to create and implement an Automation strategy whilst leading and managing multiple teams in order to deliver the outcome aligned to the business objectives.
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt Certified.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management tools and operational, reliability & maintenance processes.
  • Outstanding influencing skills with a focus on driving standardisation across the network.

£80,000 - £90,000 + benefits

Role will be based predominately in Coventry but there will be an expectation to travel to other sites.
