As Business Development Director - Robotics, key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy and go-to-market plans for the robotics platform, with a key focus on scaling the Robotics-as-a-Service model.
- Analyse market trends, customer requirements, and the competitive landscape to position the platform effectively.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across Product, Sales, Marketing, Architecture, and Deployment teams to drive successful product launches and sustained revenue growth.
- Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships that enhance market penetration, accelerate adoption, and drive long-term commercial success.
- Support proposal development, respond to RFIs, and actively contribute to pre-sales discussions by showcasing technical expertise and solution value
- Develop comprehensive, integrated hardware and software designs tailored to each site's unique operational requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering, and Deployment teams to translate business objectives into detailed, practical technical designs.
- Select, implement, and integrate robotics frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure components to create a cohesive, reliable, and easily maintainable platform.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across all stages of development, deployment, and testing.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to rigorous security standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve challenges and continuously enhance the platform in line with evolving customer and market needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including system designs, solution blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Over 5 years of demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, business development ideally within robotics, technology platforms, automation, or SaaS environments.
- Track record of successfully launching hardware-enabled services, robotics, or automation products, from concept through to market adoption and revenue growth.
- Proven expertise in developing pricing strategies, building strategic partnerships, and establishing scalable sales or channel ecosystems.
- Strong ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, translating customer needs into commercially viable solutions.
- Experienced in leading cross-functional teams to drive alignment between product, sales, marketing, and operations to achieve business objectives.
- Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex enterprise environments to secure high-impact deals and partnerships.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced start-up or scale-up environments, driving growth while balancing strategic vision with operational execution.
