This company is a national leader in the manufacture and distribution of cleaning products. They are looking for a Buyer to lead the team at their site in Birmingham.

The business supply into a number industries including healthcare, retail and education. It is well established, financially strong, and has an ambitious plan for growth.

The key responsibilities for the role of Buyer based in Birmingham will be:

  • Supplier selection and annual contract negotiation.
  • Ensure components /materials are supplied to satisfy manufacturing.
  • Supplier development. SRM (Supplier Relationship Management)
  • Identify potential ways to reduce costs. VFM (Value for Money.
  • Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy and ensure these are adequately delegated in the absence of the job holder.
  • Ensure components /materials are supplied to satisfy manufacturing.

The successful candidate for the role of Buyer based in Birmingham will have:

  • 3-5 years direct purchasing experience.
  • Background in fast moving/high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience in International sourcing.
  • VA/VE skills.
  • Track record of achieving cost reductions.
  • Professional approach. CIPS qualified an advantage.
  • Ability to establish relationships with supplier base.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Positive," can-do attitude".

The successful candidate for the role of Buyer based in Birmingham will receive:

  • A salary of £40,000 - £45,000 DOE.
  • A Monday to Friday work schedule.
  • Full autonomy in the role, with great progression opportunities.
