We are excited to be exclusively partnering with Girl Grind UK to recruit a Chief Fundraising Officer & Grants Coordinator. This is a brand-new role for the Charity and will be based in Birmingham City Centre.

Girl Grind UK are thrilled to share the exciting news of securing vital investment from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to establish their Senior Leadership Team. The Chief Fundraising Officer and Grant Coordinator will serve as a key component in the development of the organisation contributing to the growth and success.

The primary objective of this role is to maintain the efficient and optimal functioning of Girl Grind UK's financial, HR, administrative systems, processes, and policies. The person will assist the CEO/Managing Director (MD) in maximising the utilisation of available resources and implementing innovative strategies to facilitate the growth of Girl Grind UK. Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to applicable legal obligations and policies of their partners.

This person will be the first point of contact for all enquiries to Girl Grind UK and assist with:

  • Work closely with the CEO/MD to build on, deliver and strategize the financial strategy for 2024 - 2026, this is an important and vital role which will be managed in weekly meetings.
  • General Office Administration.
  • Manage existing internal and external communication systems supported by the Digital Media Communications Lead.
  • Undertake due diligence checks on all existing and new potential organisation funding applicants, tenders, and pitch decks.
  • Assess, process, and deliver online applications for grant funding, including managing the funder relationship and evaluations.
  • Completion of bid writing and funding applications.
  • Strategizing, delivering and implementing the financial growth strategy from 2024 - 2026, this includes sourcing grant funding and non-grant funding.
  • Liaising with external partners.
  • Processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts and entering data into QuickBooks and filing hard copies.
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting of any errors.
  • Recording any inconsistencies to help reconcile inaccuracies.
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets for projects.
  • Production of company invoices for services provided in accordance with contracts, grants and private income.
  • Preparing invoices in line with company's procedures and project codes.
  • Helping with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts.
  • Preparing and assisting managers with budgets for various projects.
  • Maintain effective and efficient management systems to support the work of the department.
  • To adhere at all times to the Girl Grind UK's policies and procedures.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with Girl Grind UK's Equal Opportunities, Access, Employment, Health and Safety and Inclusion Policy.
  • To carry out any other duty as directed by the line manager, in accordance with the level of the post.

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience of financial administration.
  • You will be degree educated or have worked within a similar role.
  • Ideally you will have previous experience bid writing and completing funding applications.
  • If you have worked with Youth Music Charity, Arts Council or Birmingham City Council before, this would be advantageous.
  • It is critical you are passionate about the purpose of Girl Grind UK and want to be part of their growth and journey.
  • You must have an eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Be competent using packages such as Excel, Word and accounting software ie QuickBooks (Essential).
  • Have a flexible attitude and work ethic.
  • The ideal postholder will be adaptable and flexible to the demands of the role. This role will be varied and offer a range of requirements and demands.
  • Have an outgoing nature and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be driven by new challenges.
  • Be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision but also capable of working as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small friendly, professional team.

  • £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
  • 20 days holiday with a view to increase post probation.
  • 35 hours per week.
  • Additional paid rest period/days.
