Are you a hands-on audit and accounts professional looking for a fully flexible role with real responsibility and room to grow? Our client is offering exactly that!

Our client is a long-established, purpose-driven accountancy firm, within East Anglia, who are seeking a talented Assistant Manager or Manager to join the team, providing options to be fully remote.

In this role you will take full responsibility for a portfolio of clients, delivering audit, accounts, and tax compliance services, with the support of junior team members. You'll also work directly with partners and play a pivotal role in supervising audits, managing client relationships, and contributing to business development.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who is confident working autonomously but also passionate about mentoring and growing a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit and accounting assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns, forecasts, projections, and management information.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and provide high-quality advice and service.
  • Review work of junior staff and help train, mentor, and guide their development.
  • Contribute to the firm's specialist services (e.g., Charities, Solicitors, Pensions).
  • Assist with recruitment, staff management, and internal development initiatives.
  • Occasional client travel - all clients are within a 1.5-hour radius of Bury St Edmunds.

About You:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • Strong technical knowledge in audit, accounts and tax.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a varied workload, especially if you choose to work fully remote.
  • Keen to be part of a firm where you get to shape the future e.g., assisting with recruitment/ business development.
  • Self-motivated and organised, with excellent communication skills.

Why Apply?

  • Flexibility: Choose fully remote or hybrid working, with autonomy and trust.
  • Progression: Be part of a growing team where your ideas and contributions are valued.
  • Supportive Leadership: Direct access to Partners with a clear interest in team development.
  • Development: If you have a senior you'd like to bring with you, or want to take an active role in recruitment and mentoring, we'd welcome your input.

Package: Competitive salary + benefits | Flexible/remote working | Career progression
