As an Environmental Risk Modeller, you'll play a crucial role in their dynamic environmental analytics team, based in Cambridge. While flexible work arrangements are supported, this role will primarily be centered in their Cambridge office. You'll be responsible for developing models to quantify risks, collaborate with experts, and contribute to the company's growth.

Essential Skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Mathematical Modelling: A strong understanding of modeling methods (statistics, probability, etc.) and their practical applications.
  • Programming: Proficiency in Python or similar languages (R, MatLab, SQL).
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Research Skills: The ability to source, organize, and interpret data.
  • Communication: Clear communication of complex topics to non-experts.
  • Passion: An interest in climate change risk and business management science.
  • Team Player: Thrives in a fast-paced, diverse team environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Expertise: Knowledge in climate change-related areas (risk science, economics).
  • Industry Knowledge: Sector-specific expertise (energy, circular economy, finance).
  • Model Development: Experience in catastrophe modeling, risk quantification.
  • Research: Postdoctoral research experience is a plus.
