Financial Controller

EA First are delighted to be partnering exclusively with this rapidly growing, ground breaking Cambridge biotech company in the recruitment of a Financial Controller.

Having recently concluded a very successful Series B funding round, the company is about to embark on the next stage of its life cycle. This scaling up has created the need for a Financial Controller who will support the CFO and the senior leadership team in creating and maintaining an effective, value adding finance function

Reporting to the part time Consultant CFO, this is an autonomous, top to bottom role created following the decision to bring the finance function "in-house" and so interested applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to work from a blank sheet of paper and create and embed robust financial controls, processes and procedures.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and support the transitional growth phase the company is embarking upon following the recent fund raise and will lead and manage all day to day aspects of the finance function.

Key tasks will be to oversee and implement effective financial controls, processes and procedures and the provision of financial support and guidance to the Executive team and all areas of the business. The Financial Controller will also play a key role in the selection, implementation and roll out of a specialist financial reporting system.

As such, interested applicants will need to demonstrate strong technical and commercial accounting acumen along with highly developed interpersonal and IT skills which will enable them to build effective working relationships across the various functions of the business.

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience of working within a small, but ambitious and growing organization to have a real and tangible influence on the success of the company and so represents an outstanding career development opportunity.

A competitive salary and benefits package, including share options is on offer.
