My client are looking to bring on board a skilled and experienced Lead Quality and Audit Specialist based in Birmingham.

In this role, you will be overseeing quality control and enhancement initiatives throughout all facets of operations. This includes addressing customer concerns, conducting thorough quality investigations, and overseeing the management of the quality management system.

My client are a global third party logistics provider who through continued growth are looking to bring on board a skilled and experienced Lead Quality and Audit Specialist based in Birmingham.

The key responsibilities of the Lead Quality and Audit Specialist based in Birmingham include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure that all relevant process documentation is easily accessible and properly maintained under revision control.
  • Develop methods, procedures, and sampling strategies for quality inspections tailored to meet customer requirements, performance metrics, and specifications. Also, identify and report any existing or potential quality issues.
  • Lead and oversee corrective action initiatives at the site level.
  • Monitor operational performance through available data and generate reports. Implement process improvements based on data analysis. Act as the main point of contact for external customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring adherence to appropriate Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide quality input and support for new process launches and product introductions. This includes completing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and control plans for new projects, processes, or business initiatives.
  • Participate in both internal and external auditing programs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with all divisions to develop solutions aimed at continuous improvement efforts and adherence to Quality Management System protocols.
  • Lead local and regional quality projects and objectives.
  • Supervise the Quality team, providing guidance and support in their roles and responsibilities.

The successful candidate of the Lead Quality and Audit Specialist based in Birmingham will have the following experience, skill set and characteristics.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team in a similar environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a background in the automotive or logistics sectors.
  • Proficiency in auditing, particularly in ISO audits or equivalent standards, is a necessity.
  • Strong customer service orientation coupled with adept problem-solving abilities is highly valued.
  • While an undergraduate degree in a relevant field is preferred, it is not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in utilising all Microsoft applications is required.
  • Familiarity with lean methodology would be advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid UK Driving Licence is essential.
