This company is a national leader in the manufacture and distribution of cleaning products. They are looking for a Production Manager to lead the team at their site in Birmingham.

The business supply into a number industries including healthcare, retail and education. It is well established, financially strong, and has an ambitious plan for growth.

As Production Manager you will lead production activities, KPI metrics, analysing results to recommend and implement required improvements.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Create and execute daily and weekly production schedules reporting any deviations to plan
  • Ensure all standards and criteria are consistently developed and improved
  • Ensure correct procedures are implemented and followed for all machinery and processes
  • Monitor output & respond to correct production issues
  • Manage high levels of health & safety at all times
  • Deliver high standards of quality and ensure deliveries are achieved
  • Manage and improve costs where possible
  • Implement standards operating procedures (SOP) where possible
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement activities
  • Support other departments collaboratively when there are changes to customer demand
  • Provide individuals with a performance improvement plan (PIP) when there are issues with conduct or capability
  • Conduct consistent daily briefings with the team
  • Implement training and development plans for Team Leaders to include regular 1 to 1 performance reviews
  • Conduct all relevant HR processes such as absence management, return to work and disciplinary actions
  • Monitor and support factory team leaders in ensuring training and upskilling of Team is well planned and implemented
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate shift handovers are completed

  • Experience in leading, managing, developing, and inspiring manufacturing teams
  • Proven experience in manging and improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and moral in a production environment
  • A leader that is able to visualise the future state and continuously make progress in achieving a long term plan
  • Formal training in managing safety is desirable, such as IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Formal training and experience in the application of lean and continuous improvement tools is also highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Be within commutable distance to and from Birmingham.

£50,000 + benefits
