This a great opportunity to join a real Cambridge success story with exciting plans moving forward. This heavily backed Bio-tech firm is looking to recruit a project / management accountant to join their talented Finance team. This is a newly created role will see you working closely with the business leaders and requires excellent interpersonal skills.

This role will require a highly skilled Management Accountant with experience of project accounting. You will be liaising with senior project leaders to ensure accurate reporting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Execution of accounting processes related to clinical trial accounting, R&D program accrual accounting, clinical manufacturing accounting, and other areas of accounting related to the R&D processes.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within the finance, R&D and clinical operations organisation to manage the R&D progress against budget and ensure the recording of accruals on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Preparation of balance sheets reconciliations for monthly management accounts.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance and provide insights to the business.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support decision-making processes by providing financial analysis and business insights to the business.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax, specifically preparation of VAT and R&D tax credit calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements including audit information and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with FP&A team to ensure the right assumptions are used.

The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified with experience of project accounting ideally in an R&D environment. You will be capable of managing large volumes of data and have strong interpersonal skills.

£60,000 to £70,000 plus benefits and bonus
