My client has a fantastic new opportunity for a driven and analytically minded individual, as they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to join our team based in Cumbria.

My client is a rapidly growing, award winning food manufacturer based in Cumbria, who are looking to bring and experienced Quality Manager into the team.

The key duties and responsibilities for the Quality Manager based in Cumbria are as follows;

  • Develop and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support quality compliance objectives.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing quality compliance and systems, addressing areas identified through audits and monitoring.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and communicate trends within the network community.
  • Support supplier qualification for high-profile or critical vendors as needed.
  • Participate in Quality Metrics reviews and management reviews.
  • Track all site inspections by regulatory authorities, guiding the site in responding to observations when necessary.
  • Coordinate and track reviews for quality event escalations, including regulatory notifications and product recalls.
  • Maintain a regulatory intelligence program, focusing on changes to GMP regulations and guidance, and implement relevant changes into site policies to ensure alignment.
  • Interact frequently with leadership and senior management, utilising negotiation and influence skills to achieve mutually beneficial and compliance outcomes.
  • Manage the customer complaint process.
  • Oversee the QA team on site, including laboratory, microbiology, and quality system teams.

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.

  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Previous experience within a Dairy manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Minimum of two years of managerial experience.
  • A science related degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Biotechnology (Desirable)
  • A strong working knowledge of GxP regulations in the European Union (EU), United States (US) and other relevant global markets.
  • Be analytically minded and continuous improvement focused.
  • Be quality focused with a drive to ensure standards are upheld.
  • Possess strong presentation skills; confident public speaker.
  • Have a proven record of achieving targets and milestones.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including OneNote and SharePoint platforms.

£40,000 - £55,000
