We are working with a Not-for-Profit in Birmingham on an exclusive basis to recruit a Senior Management Accountant. This role is paying £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.

A Not-for-Profit that has been based in Birmingham for over 100 years.

Senior Management Accountant:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Support the Finance Director with the implementation of a new finance system.
  • Develop financial modelling to support budget holders, inclusive of the Executive Team and Board of Trustees.
  • People manage a small team.
  • Be responsible for VAT and Tax queries for the charity.
  • Assist the Finance Director with identifying new ways of working and implementing improvements of processes.
  • Support with funding bids for the charity.
  • Provide support to colleagues in other departments with the provision of financial information as required.
  • Deputise for the Finance Director.

Senior Management Accountant:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CGMA/CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with at least five years of post-qualification experience. Part-qualified or qualified by experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to lead on and produce monthly management accounts.
  • A track record of working with non-finance budget holders.
  • Knowledge of partial exemption and VAT would be desirable.
  • Previous experience working on a finance system implementation would be helpful.
  • Unrestricted and restricted funding would be advantageous.
  • High standard of literacy and numeracy - Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent) level.
  • Computer literate on MS Office and payment/finance systems.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Understands the importance of good internal and external customer relations.
  • An excellent eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.

  • £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.
