Based in their Cambridge office, the successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and enhancing the suite of environmental and risk models. The primary focus will be on environmental risk modelling, leveraging expertise to quantify climate-related perils and their impacts on business value chains. As a senior member of the team, responsibilities include wrangling complex datasets, conducting analytics, and building rigorous models to provide invaluable insights.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in natural sciences, mathematics, physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum three years' post-qualification experience.
  • Proficiency in relevant scientific topics related to climate change or quantitative modelling.
  • Familiarity with climate science and the ability to interpret climate model outputs.
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
  • Experience synthesizing information to create novel solutions and applying data science to real-world problems.
  • Ability to organize and interpret datasets effectively.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of geospatial data science and geographical information systems (GIS).
  • Prior experience in a commercial setting or business consultancy.
  • Project management experience, delivering projects on time and on budget.
