Working in the Lifetime Planning team, as Solicitor/Legal Executive you will be helping private clients to put plans and systems in place, to make sure their wishes are achieved and the future of their families safeguarded. Work within this team includes wills, trusts, complex lifetime tax planning, estate administration, powers of attorney and Court of Protection.

You will be responsible for your own case load as well as working alongside the members of the Lifetime Planning team and the wider group.

Amongst other matters, you can expect to work on complex estate administration involving taxable estates, often with agricultural and business elements, preparation of deeds of variation and declarations of trust. Knowledge of land law is an advantage.

As a Solicitor or Legal Executive, you will be running your own matters, as well as having the opportunity to work alongside partners and other fee earners, ensuring the right work is done at the right level.

On a day to day basis, you will:

  • Manage your own case load
  • Conduct meetings and interviews with clients
  • Assess legal issues and advise accordingly
  • Advise on costs (including the preparation of Letters of Engagement)
  • Conduct legal research
  • Draft documents and letters and prepare and submit searches
  • Keep up to date with law and practice
  • Assist Partners and other members of the team when required
  • Assist in the development of long term client relationships including assisting and attending business development activities
  • Develop, support and coach members of the team

You will be qualified and have experience of working in a similar role for private clients.
