The Time-Critical Air Freight Commercial Manager will be responsible for building and managing an air charter strategy that is cost effective and profitable, whilst catering to customer needs inline with SLAs. The role will also include business development, with a focus on building on current air carrier contracts.

The key responsibilities for the role of Time-Critical Air Freight Commercial Manager in Worcestershire will be:

  • Setting and managing Airfreight processes, covering Time-Critical air-charters, OBC/Hand Carry, NFO/Express airfreight.
  • Full P&L and budget responsibility for air freight business.
  • Build and develop a strategy for the air freight side of the operation.
  • Be a subject matter expert and a point of contact for customers.
  • Sourcing and procurement of air freight solutions providers that can meet customer requirements and also fall inline with budgets.
  • Build on existing air freight contracts and bring new business on board.
  • Ensure proactive business-relationships with customers at desk-planner level, making sure that the business is their supplier of choice long term.
  • Carry out business development within air freight to meet revenue targets.

The successful candidate for the role of Time-Critical Air Freight Commercial Manager in Worcestershire will have:

  • A solid background in both freight/shipping.
  • Strong experience working within air freight, with the ability to be a subject matter expert in the business.
  • A network of air freight contacts, particularly air charter suppliers will be of huge benefit.
  • The ability to manage a P&L and set budgets.
  • Business development experience.
  • An understanding of Incoterms 2020.
  • Knowledge of necessary network of carriers and services offered by air-charters and relevant processes.
