The successful candidate will be held to the following key responsibilities as a Transport Contract Manager based in Darlington.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the transportation industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for enhanced commercial performance and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Oversee management of customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Take ownership of Profit and Loss (P&L) for assigned transportation contracts.
- Implement cost-saving measures and revenue enhancement strategies to achieve financial targets.
- Possess a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement efficient transportation processes.
- Utilise KPIs to measure and improve operational performance across all sites.
- Provide leadership to a diverse team of transportation professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement reporting mechanisms for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyse data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimisation.
The successful candidate of the Transport Contract Manager position based in Darlington, will have the following experiences, skills and characteristics.
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the transportation industry.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering financial results.
- Experience working in a heavily unionised environment
- Experience managing and maintaining customer accounts.
- Possession of a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Demonstrated proficiency in P&L management.
- Expertise in setting and managing KPIs for transportation operations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as and when is needed.
