My client is a leading 3PL Provider based in Crick.

The Transport Coordinator will provide leadership to the team by giving direction, monitoring performance, and ensuring that the department operates efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with company guidelines, while also delivering a high-quality service to customers and stores.

The primary responsibility for the Transport Coordinator is to manage daily operations within the designated area. This includes briefing and debriefing drivers at the start and end of their shifts, monitoring performance to ensure high levels of efficiency and quality service to stores and customers, and meeting daily and weekly KPI targets.

As a member of a flexible team, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, setting an example for colleagues to follow. You will also utilise any relevant systems, equipment, or software to improve performance and productivity and accept new technology and training as needed.

In addition, you will support the Transport Manager with disciplinary and grievance hearings, as well as managing absence levels within the transport team by conducting return to work interviews and absence meetings.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a proven track record of managing a medium to large dedicated fleet while maintaining compliance with operational procedures. They should also have sound planning and people management skills, as well as good geographical knowledge.

Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of drivers' hours and WTD regulations, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to utilise IT and systems to deliver transport and distribution objectives. Awareness of operational performance as well as the capability to operate in a challenging employee relations environment and establish constructive working relationships.

The candidate should also have experience in supervising or managing a team, motivating and developing staff through controlled delegation and coaching to ensure that they achieve both team and personal goals. They should possess knowledge of computerised scheduling packages, and have an attention to detail that is driven by a commitment to continual improvement and high personal standards.

£25,000 plus benefits
