The Transport Manager role is key to the company's continued growth. Based at their Tamworth depot, you will be leading a team of office staff and drivers, whilst managing and overseeing daily transport operations.

The key responsibilities for the role of Transport Manager in Tamworth will be:

  • Managing and overseeing daily transport operations in a busy depot.
  • Managing the site's drivers, ensuring that all drivers and operators have the correct, up to date qualifications.

  • Managing a team of office staff, ensuring all paperwork is completed and compliant.
  • Making sure vehicles are properly maintained, arranging repairs and routine maintenance.

  • Ensuring relevant legislation is followed by drivers and wider team. This includes but is not limited to all Tacho/hours legislation and other O licence related activities.

  • Agreeing and managing transport related KPI's inline with company targets and customer SLAs.

  • Carrying out compliance and H&S audits.

The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Tamworth will have:

  • Experience managing a transport operation.
  • Great knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
  • A strong logistics background.
  • Knowledge of transport planning systems and strong geographic understanding of the UK to support management of planning.
  • Competent use of MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Be a great people manager, with the ability to train and develop drivers and managers.
  • CPC National or International preferred but not essential.

The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Tamworth will receive:

  • A salary of between £42,000 - £47,000 DOE.
  • A working schedule of Monday to Friday on days.
  • Great autonomy and progression opportunities.
