Our client is a well-established logistics and transport company based in Shrewsbury. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

The key responsibilities for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will be:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport services are provided to customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise the use of transport resources, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies relating to transport operations, health and safety, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, suppliers, and other departments within the company to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Manage a team of drivers and other transport staff, providing leadership, support, and training as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and analyse transport performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as required.

The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will have:

  • Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role in the logistics or transport industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of transport regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Proficient in the use of transport management systems and other relevant software applications.
  • A CPC, as this role will come with Operator's Licence responsibility.

The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will receive:

  • A salary of £40,000 - £45,000 DOE.
  • A working schedule of Monday to Friday, 06:00-16:00.
  • Great progression opportunities.
  • The ability to work autonomously.
