The key responsibilities for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will be:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport services are provided to customers.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise the use of transport resources, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies relating to transport operations, health and safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, suppliers, and other departments within the company to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Manage a team of drivers and other transport staff, providing leadership, support, and training as required.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and analyse transport performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as required.
The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will have:
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role in the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of transport regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems.
- Proficient in the use of transport management systems and other relevant software applications.
- A CPC, as this role will come with Operator's Licence responsibility.
The successful candidate for the role of Transport Manager in Shrewsbury will receive:
- A salary of £40,000 - £45,000 DOE.
- A working schedule of Monday to Friday, 06:00-16:00.
