My client are searching for a Transport Network Planner to join their team based in Nottingham. You will support the team in planning across the transportation network. Using transportation planning tools and software, you'll design efficient transport routes for the UK network.

My client are a UK leading Retailer who are looking for a Transport Network Planner to join their team based in Nottingham

The key responsibilities for the Transport Network Planner based in Nottingham are including but not limited to the following.

  • Maintain an accurate base model of existing routes across the network, ensuring data integrity and currency.
  • Conduct route review activities as per the optimisation plan to uphold high service levels and operational efficiency, while meeting customer constraints and company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with driver's hours legislation for all route changes.
  • Perform regular analysis of current transport operations to compare against budget using the MOM (Transport Ops Model).
  • Handle and promptly address routine requests from various stakeholders.
  • Address ad-hoc requests as they arise.
  • Contribute to the annual delivery of planned route reviews within the Van and HGV Networks, ensuring adherence to cost and legal parameters.

The successful candidate of the Transport Network Planner based in Nottingham will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in an environment of continuous change.
  • Ability to function effectively within a service-oriented environment and foster a culture of service.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness.
  • Familiarity with route planning software such as Paragon, Truckstops, Dips, etc.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, numeracy, and analytic skills, including proficiency in generating and interpreting detailed spreadsheet data.
  • Advanced proficiency in system applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability in data visualisation, translating complex data into clear and comprehensible insights.
  • Willingness to learn and enhance proficiency in logistics problem-solving tools.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
