My client are a leading 3PL provider based in the UK.
They are looking for a UK Carrier Manager to be responsible for strengthening the relationship with all carriers to improve performance and strive to develop innovative services for their customers.

The UK Carrier Manager wil be responsible for delivering a first class experience to every one of their customers by consistently finding ways to optimise cost, deliver the target set every year and to drive innovation to ensure fast and accurate implementation of new delivery solutions.
Key responsibilitiies for the UK Carrier Manager include:
- Own and maintain relationships with UK carrier partners
- Provide weekly/monthly analysis of carriers presenting findings & recommendations to key stakeholders
- Own and run carrier tender processes
- Continuously seek better commercial options whilst ensuring the customer has the best possible experience
- Using data, identify potential improvements or predict service disruptions
- On-board and manage performance KPIs of postal and parcel carriers
- Negotiate and monitor accuracy of carrier costs and contracts
- Maintain and improve the internal carrier system
- Manage and update shipping related costs
- Carrier management across multiple markets
- Manage external stakeholders and third party suppliers
- Assist the onboarding of new print houses and carriers
- Analyse and reconcile carrier invoices
- Assist with preparing forecasts to help capacity planning during peaks
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Have at least 5 years' experience in a UK Carrier Management position
- Experience of working with UK Logistics providers and couriers
- Have experience running carrier tenders
- Have good working knowledge of B2C postal and parcel operations
- Can talk with confidence about each stage of the end to end parcel journey
- Have sound understanding of B2C customs and duties (especially over international border lines)
- Experience of introducing and managing carrier SLA's / KPI's striving for continuous improvement
- Have a track record of problem solving and delivering efficiency gains
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and liaise with all members of the business including Senior Managers and Directors
- Commercially driven with an appetite to drive business improvement
- Be local to the West Midlands
£60,000 - £70,000 + car, bonus, private pension, life assurance and holidays.
West Midlands - opportunity to work remote or hybrid.
