The Warehouse Shift Manager (Nights) based in W. Yorkshire will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a The night shift within the warehouse. Ensuring efficient and effective handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, manage a team of warehouse associates, and maintain a safe and organised working environment. The Warehouse Shift Manager will collaborate closely with other managers to meet operational goals, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse associates during the assigned shift.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper utilisation of resources.
- Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address any performance issues promptly.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Plan and coordinate daily work schedules to optimise productivity and meet operational goals.
- Ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while minimising delays and errors.
- Oversee order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory control to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure accurate order fulfilment.
- Perform regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing shipments to maintain product integrity.
- Address and resolve quality-related issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety meetings, ensure proper training, and respond to safety concerns.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements related to warehouse operations.
The successful candidate for the Warehouse Shift Manager (Nights) based in W. Yorkshire position will have the below skills and experiences
- Manage a team of over 20+ employees.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- The ability to maintain very high levels of accuracy in the processing and provision of management information
- Well-developed communicator both verbal and written.
- Proactive, creative and highly organised.
- 3+ years experience within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector - Ideally within Warehousing at a Supervisor, FLM, Shift Manager or Operations Manager level.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience in Warehouse Management Systems.
- Computer literate including MS Office packages.
- Live within commutable distance or happy to relocate
