Job Title: Warehousing Operations Manager

Location: Cannock

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum

Working Hours: Flexible circa Mon - Fri 06:00 - 15:00 or 07:00 - 16:00
(There is the option to work a night shift if necessary)

EA First have been selected to exclusively represent a large logistics & distribution business in their search for an Operations Manager to oversee the company's warehousing operation in Cannock.

The business is doing incredibly well and has seen fantastic growth over the last couple of years following some significant investment from the business owners.

The postholder will have direct oversight of 4 employees and indirect oversight circa 60 employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To drive continuous improvement in people & process and be cost efficient in the running of the operation.
  • The selection, management and training of all department staff maintaining good morale and motivation.
  • To safeguard the human and physical assets employed in the warehouse environment - ensuring health & safety guidelines policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff, temporary staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • The management of projects and introduction of new initiatives.
  • To ensure the warehouse can deliver the daily volume requirements of the business ensuring all outbound services to Out-bases and Final mile vehicles are both timely and accurate.
  • Effective planning of and management of Supplier delivery schedules.
  • Identifying areas of weakness as determined in part by department K.P. I's and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and security across all site operations.
  • Hold self and others accountable for quality of service and meeting deadlines.
  • To support learning and development of all employees within the department.
  • To set clear goals for team with timely performance reviews.
  • Role model for company standards and behaviours.

Requirements and Competencies:

  • Current experience involving operational management in warehouse setting
  • Over 2 years' experience in a warehousing management position
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Requirements and able to partner with the Leadership and Management Teams in the implementation and communication of all Health and Safety matters.
  • Ability to analyse trends and suggest improvements.
  • Development and use of variable budgets, familiar with basic accounting principles.

  • Ability to Stabilise the existing team, drive productivity and make a positive impact on operational culture
  • Identify through PDRs who the star performers in the team are and look to improve and develop them
  • Drive operational change and transformation through continuous improvement activities
