My client are a leading Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain business based in the UK and they are looking a WMS Implementations Lead to join on a permanent basis to help drive for operational efficiencies through systems implementations.

My client are based in the Leicester but have multiple locations across the UK and are incredibly flexible with regards to remote working.

My client are a leading Logistics Distribution and Supply chain business in the UK with a flagship based in Leicester. They've had a really interesting 18 months and have acquired a number of new businesses and new contract wins.

The next 12 months are even more exciting with some big contract tenders underway which is why they're looking to bolster their Systems Implementations team with the very best WMS Implementations Lead.

The Systems Implementations Team look after core operational systems used within my clients Distribution network and primarily focus on WMS systems which in this case is JDA.

Their main objective is to support the Distribution operations by development and driving continuous improvement initiatives across their warehousing and distribution operations. The Systems Implementations team has expanded rapidly in the last 18 months to support the exponential growth of the business.

As a WMS Implementations Lead, key responsibilities include:

  • To be the functional Subject Matter Expert JDA WMS
  • Liaise and collaborate closely with the vendor, partners and suppliers; able to influence business partners and management when issues are challenging.
  • Recommend JDA WMS improvements to Product Management to ensure warehousing and logistics processes meet business requirements.
  • Act as the SuperUser and drive for best practice
  • Provide functional system analysis and third level functional support.
  • Offer system functionality consultancy to the technical and implementation teams
  • Actively contribute to problem and incident management as well as acting as the vendor management escalation expert.
  • Production and review of functional documentation and training reviews.

Must have proven knowledge of:

  • A minimum of 10 years supply chain management experience
  • Experience in delivery of complex Supply Chain change projects, specifically Warehouse Management System & Automated WCS upgrades and implementations
  • Experience in using core project management techniques and tools, demonstrating ability to deliver overlapping projects over multiple year capital
  • Experience in leading remote teams who are geographically spread, ensuring resource risks are identified and managed to mitigate project risk.
  • Knowledge of modern Warehouse Management (WMS) & Automated (WCS) solutions and how they integrate into host order management
  • Strong working knowledge of JDA
  • Strong Process knowledge and understanding across logistics/supply chain ideally in FMCG and E-CommerceLeicester
  • Rigorous and analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to operate under pressure in a fast moving environment Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain

Competitive Salary and benefits on offer:

  • £45,000 - £50,000

Location: My client have offices in Manchester, Leicester, Birmingham and London. My client is happy for you to work from home as long as you can get to one of these offices once a week.
