Whilst clearly my experience and abilities are key to why you might choose to partner with EA First, of equal importance to me is ensuring you know what I stand for and hence what EA First will stand for.
Upon graduation I wasn’t very sure what I should do for a career and thus found myself working in property investment sales for 5 years. Though interesting, it just didn’t feel like this was meant to be the next 30-40 years of my career.
My father had been in the Army, then Police and finally Civil Service covering 52 years in Public Service, so the one thing I had instilled into me (and I was genuinely motivated by), was the notion of serving others. I just wasn’t sure how I could do this in a Monday-Friday manner.
I then learnt about the recruitment industry and finally found what I was passionate about in work, and something where I could serve others in my own way.
When you search for an agency recruitment role you will always see it classed as a sales role, however, I have never really seen myself as a sales person. In my eyes, I’m just somebody who can help others via my passion for helping people to realise an opportunity.
Some of my most memorable & rewarding moments, as will be the case for many recruiters, is the gratitude we are shown when a client hires a candidate they initially rejected at CV stage and we persuaded them to meet, or instances where a candidate thanks us for the interview preparation that helped provide the confidence they needed to seal their dream role.
As for my record and my capabilities, I’m proud to say I worked my way up from the bottom of the ladder at Michael Page (Global Agency) in the Birmingham office to Director of the Cambridge office. I’ve recruited C-Suite level roles both retained and interim, with SME’s as well as FTSE 100 clients, as well as managing teams and recruiting across various business support functions. At the same time, I still pick up roles in the high volume mover market.
My LinkedIn profile will provide first hand experience of the clients and candidates I have worked with.
Having achieved success in a national candidate sourcing campaign managed out of Birmingham, I then helped Cambridge achieve records not seen in its 20 year history. It was a great journey along with making many great friends!
Within my new role, my goal is to provide a level of service that warrants repeat business through offering creativity and flexibility in our approach to the market.
In short, serving others to help realise their goals.
